Do you know what's behind your feelings?

Mastering difficult communication requires understanding ourselves first. This helps us understand others. Research finds that putting words to our feelings helps us reduce negative feelings and appreciate positive ones. Positive and negative feelings come from met and unmet values. By analysing the link between our feelings and needs, we can learn to develop better strategies for getting our needs met, and also use this understanding to communicate with others.

Use the feelings and values lists linked below to see what your positive/negative feelings were today, and understand the met/unmet needs that gave rise to the feelings. At the bottom of the lists you can make notes about events that gave rise to feelings and strategies that can help you meet your needs. (Registered users can record daily logs).
